Port Stephens Marriage Celebrant

Hi, I’m Jacie (like J.C).

My business philosophy is simple; be original, passionate, personable, useful, give exceptional service, great value for money and appropriate laughter and tears.

I adore anything homemade, handmade, bespoke, artesian, brimming with creativity and that which is crafted so obviously from love, talent and thoughtfulness.

My passions are reading and writing, and my art is story telling-specifically the one that is exclusively yours which is why you get a completely distinctive ceremony purposely written with you and your love story in mind.

My approach delivers a genuinely different experience and a ceremony guaranteed to be remembered long after your wedding day celebrations formally finish.

The ceremonies I create are engaging of your guests, inclusive of your wedding party and loved ones, meaningful to you and illustrative of your love, your promises and your future intentions.

I am inspired by the entire event planning process and thoroughly enjoy ensuring that all those special, most thoughtful and quirky details you’ve implemented are included to make your celebration a truly memorable, unique and beautifully personal experience.

With an absolute passion and art for writing, I love the challenge of weaving your personalities, eccentricities and important values into each ceremony ensuring you and your guests are able to enjoy the full spectrum of emotions while ensuring lightness and the spirit of celebration is in each ceremony I write.

I am excited about the opportunity to serve you and share my creativity, organisation and innovative approach with you in your upcoming celebrations.

Prior to becoming an Australian marriage celebrant and no doubt like you, I had been a guest at numerous weddings. The last two I attended were the turning point for me because they seemed to follow the same stock standard and uninspiring format, they used similar, antiquated wording and lack lustre feeling.

I remember feeling saddened and disappointed that such a romantic, meaningful and intimate occasion wasn’t celebrated with the enthusiasm, love and passion I knew my friends shared for each other.

These ceremonies were outdone by the receptions and forgotten not long after the couples were officially married. It was during the reception of that second wedding I decided to pursue a career as a Celebrant. It is now my full-time passion and profession and an art that I truly enjoy bringing to the wedding industry.

I believe your ceremony should be truly unique and that is needs to engage your guests and create a tapestry of support for the enjoyment and success of your marriage long after the ceremony. Your ceremony needs to be a reflection of all that you are, with acknowledgement to the people that have shaped and helped you become who you are and it is a declaration of all that you hope to become and achieve together.

The words, rituals and rites woven into your ceremony must mesmerise you and your guests and in talking about your wedding in the years to come it’s those special, heartfelt moments that will carry you back to your day and the enveloping love you felt when you married.

As a marriage celebrant I want to capture for you an abundance of favourite ceremony moments to hold and return to in your married years. The glistening of a tear in your lover’s eyes as you really engage with one another in the sharing of your vows, the crinkle in the cheeks of your guests as they smile remembering the common threads of your friendship, the throaty swallows and tissue dabbed eyes as we honour those in spirit through the rituals of remembrance.

These are the moments that I as an exceptional celebrant, strive to create.

Thank you for understanding that I’m not the time dedicated person it takes, nor the employer of the professional team; that’s often behind brilliant marketing, ingenious brand awareness, and stellar mid ceremony photo captures.

It’s simply not a priority for me to spend hours on social media posts or to write magazine articles & blogs, record podcasts, or pay for layers of advertising and staff without being called to do so.

I’ve never wanted to be a headline act, or a business mogul, and I enjoy being a little hard to find because I don’t want the quality problem of being booked beyond my capacity or pressured to have to say “no” to amazing couples or the experiences that are still on my bucket list.

I desire balance, and to navigate my business and life from inspiration, innovation and intuition.

I like feeling that everything I do rises from the fiercely loving, compassionate self that I know is at my core and not the one that may operate from my triggers, ego or those split off, wounded, albeit well-meaning defenders.

Also thank you for understanding if I offend or disappoint you by declining to send you the “sample ceremonies” you request as potential clients, or give a reciprocated social platform follow back to your support of my work, as fellow celebrants and industry greats.

It’s simply because I’m in this business to exclusively hear and serve my couples and their unique connections, to edify their experiences, history and influences and to keep what’s entrusted to me, in capturing all that, sacred.

It’s my calling to make their stories and serendipitous coupling into the kind of keepsake art, that emotes, celebrates, authenticates and validates them and their inner circle.

Reading the ceremonies of others won’t resonate with you because it’s their vault and future of possibilities that’s captured.

I can’t sell you on their ceremony, or my ability, I can only listen to bespokely innovate yours.

Fulfilling these dreams of mine, requires me to be remain focused within, and true to my core self.

It means I’m constantly choosing to be deliberately unaware of what others are doing, because I’ve learned that outside influence skews my view.

Honestly, watching what others were doing in the past, raised feelings of insecurity, comparison, and competition in me and I while wholeheartedly know I’m doing exactly what I want, in the precise way I want it, it’s impossible for me to not question if I should be doing more and sometimes what my inspirational colleagues are doing.

I choose to compete only against myself, to evolve and produce better work each and every time.

I’ll keep pushing myself artistically to ensure I don’t get complacent, so as to maintain the bespoke, interesting and always different style that’s my trademark.

I absolutely believe in community over competition and I respect and appreciate the vast styles and approaches that have emerged over the last 14 years I’ve been celebranting and I’m cheering for you- maybe just not in the way that’s usual or expected.

Maybe my modus operandi is selfish, maybe it’s self- preservation, maybe it’s masterful – I don’t know, I just know it’s me and it works for me. and the people I get entrusted to share this beautiful space with in their lives.
